Education is outdated, says Google legend
When the man with the creative genius to think up and build Google Glass warns that education today is centuries behind, it’s not a bad idea to listen. Sebastian Thrun, founder of Google’s not so secretive X experimentation lab, says that the restrictive and controlling nature of how education is supplied and consumed has more to do with fear, than effective learning. "The education system is based on a framework from the 17th and 18th century that says we should play for the first five years of life, then learn, then work, then rest and then die. I believe we should be able to do all those things all the time."
